Creative Flash/ Flash Lite Designer (Permanent)

Nokia, the world leader in mobility, is seeking a Senior Designer to be based in our Soho Design Studios in the heart of London. The Senior Designer will help create design interface and service solutions for Nokia devices and services (Mobile/ Web/ PC) as part of the Service and User Interface Design team.
Primary Responsibilities of the role include:
• Building and designing prototypes
• Provide creative and technical leadership in service and device user interface development and promote creativity and insights within the team.
• Proactively work within a team and be confident enough to work independently on projects.
• Be able to lead and manage resources for a project in a virtual capacity.
• Be able to deal with multiple stake holders on a project and balance needs and respond in a clear direction.
• Capable of taking a project through the full lifecycle from conception to delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
Technical skills:
• Proven commercial experience of Flash/ Flash Lite (Actionscripting) backed with a combination of some if not all of the following: Java, Javascript, HTML, Python, C, Cocoa/ Objective-C, Symbian OS, Runtime environments
• Proven knowledge of full graphic design suites - Photoshop, Illustrator etc.
• Proven experience of developing Rich Internet Applications (Adobe Air) is a bonus.
• Strong integration skills across multiple platforms, mobile application prototyping/ development across a number of mobile platforms/ environments (eg Symbian OS) are a bonus.
Commercial Skills:
• Ideally degree educated and/ or proven and relevant commercial experience as an individual contributor in interaction design and screen prototyping. This should cover service and interface development from initiation to delivery within Mobile/ Web/ Media/ UI arenas.
• Strong creative background in graphic design.
• Evidence of multitasking and delivering multiple projects (typical timescales of 1- 8 weeks).
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Accepts responsibility for and demonstrates support for delegated decisions.
• Uses non standard approaches to resolving issues.
• Proven problem solving skills to initiate improvements and seeks opportunities for innovation.
