Senior Engineer, Multimedia - Req. #4400 - Sony Ericsson (Redwood City, CA)

Technically lead a team of developers in addition to architecting and designing software to implement multimedia applications in Java, HTML/JS, C/C++ or Flash or a combination thereof using an iterative development model cooperating with product planners, designers and user experience department. The lead senior engineer will use best practices using test driven development and iterative development to ensure that the software has the current quality within project timelines.
Responsibilities:
1. Architect, design and implement multimedia application in Java, C or C++.
2. Technically lead a team of developers to do implementation, test suite implementation
3. Estimate and prioritize work tasks in the iterative development model
4. Work with designers, user experience department, product planners and stakeholders to deliver a next generation multimedia experience
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of developing software in Java, C or C++
• 3+ years architecting and designing software is a MUST
• Experience of multimedia applications and multimedia frameworks is a MUST
• Expereience of Media Codecs, DirectShow, OpenCore2 and OpenGL 2.0 | ES is major plus.
• Experience from embedded programming, user interface programming , Java and Linux is a MUST
• Experience from SCRUM , test driven development or continuous integration is a major plus
• Experience in any of the following technology areas is a major plus: Flash10, FlashLite, JUnit, HTML/JS/CSS, JBoss ,JSP,
• Experience of GIT as version control system is a major plus
• Prior Experience with Mobile Operating systems is a major plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ubuntu Linux knowledge is a plus
