at Lisa Howard (Guru) in London (EC1R)
CREATIVE TECHNOLOGIST - (INTERACTIVE AGENCY) - LONDON (REF:LH-000GM9, Closing Date: 12/06/2011)
We need a switched on Creative Technologist/Technical Director to join a world class, award winning (FWA, Webby, Cannes) interactive production company. More...
Based in Farringdon, this leading, interactive production agency make everything from live-action films to web apps, campaign-led microsites, mobile phone apps and installation pieces. Since launching in January 2009, they have worked on interactive & film campaigns with Philips, Diesel, Nike, Sony Playstation, Nokia, Wrangler, Yahoo, Visa, Gucci, Cadbury’s, Intel and Sky Sports winning multiple FWA, Webby and Cannes awards in the process.
Joining as a Creative Technologist/Technical Director you will play a vital role in leading technical and creative projects, providing the necessary input into creative decisions and pitches, as well as owning the technical decisions for all projects you are involved in.
Working closely with internal developers, designers, creatives and producers you will be responsible for coming up with creative solutions for technical problems whilst ensuring that every project you supervise is stable, error-free and meets client expectations.
To qualify... You’ll need to be a Creative Technologist / Technical Director with an in-depth knowledge of web technologies (front- and back end coding technologies and server architectures) and a passion for experimentation, emerging technologies and trends. In more detail you should:
• Know technically what works, what won’t, and what’s worth trying.
• Be full of ideas about how to improve any given technological project, as well as how to improve the technology itself.
• Have a strong knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS.
• Know where Flash excels and where HTML is the stronger technology.
• Know about server environments and their limitations, including the stresses caused by live videocasting and media-driven traffic.
• Have a working knowledge and/or interest in various film techniques and the filmmaking process.
• Understand the issues around video encoding, including bitrates, encoder compatibility and limitations, and the performance implications of various decoders.
• Be a developer at heart, probably specialising in a single language but you’ve dipped your toes in other coding environments.
• Know about all the latest technological advances, from the latest Flash Player or Chrome update to what the latest Kinect hack is.
We’re looking for people who live for technology and love to collaborate. You will be at the heart of the creative process so a good appreciation of usability and interaction design will also be required. Any additional exposure to Objective C or Java programming, music, video editing, photography, electronics or motion graphics would be a real sell.
You will be joining a bunch of passionate, talented and enthusiastic people who thrive on producing exceptional solutions in an environment they truly love to be in. Apply now.
